Charles & Jessica Engagement Session March 29, 2010 Seaside Florida

It was a beautiful day to take photos of two gorgeous people in love, Charles and Jessica, in Seaside, Florida.  Of course it wasn’t exactly beautiful enough to convince Jessica to brave the cold waters of the Gulf and get wet in the photos!  LOL!!!  Jessica has the most amazingly blue eyes you have ever seen and it was great to shoot her and accentuate those beautiful eyes. We had a lot of fun and Charles sister, Megan, came along and we got a few brother sister shots in as well.  I wish them a long and happy future together as husband and wife!

Scarbrough Family Santa Rosa Beach April 2, 2010

There There is just nothing in this world like a beautiful southern accent on a southern lady! Carla from South Carolina is exactly the image of that southern belle!  She wanted beach portraits to capture images of her little 2 year old in a TOTAL journalistic approach…and this was right up my alley because that is my absolute favorite style of photography.  I love to sit back and just observe and catch those fleeting moments especially in the face of a child.  Photojournalism is why I love weddings so much!  This would be no easy task because Ashley was having no part in having some guy with a big camera aimed at her! But I’m a patient guy and have a great love for children so I just stepped back and let the family interact and get their little girl comfortable.  It wasn’t too long before I was able to sneak up a little closer for some shots.  We made the mistake once of calling her name to try and get one family shot with everyone looking into the camera and the sweetheart just wailed!!!  But it was a great evening with a wonderful family and we all walked away with images of a gorgeous little redhead to cherish for a lifetime!

Tyler & Destini March 14 Alys Beach, March 20 Rosemary Beach

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 “Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.”
It is amazing to watch God in action as He brings two people together from two different places with many miles between them.  Love at first sight exists! For those of you who don’t know, Destini is my sister.  I am very happy for her and well, I now have new muses for my art.  I was blessed to have a very beautiful sister and now her love is her perfect match and very photogenic.  This is just the beginning of many years of me taking their photographs and trying all my new poses on a couple who is gorgeous and shares such love and emotion.  The cool thing about that scripture above is it has always been one of my favorites and my sister’s man has a tattoo on his arm with a very cool meaning…not a coincidence!

Wade & Alicia Engagement Session March 2, 2010 Seaside Florida

It was a beautiful day with a gorgeous couple and their love was brighter that day than the sunshine!  We had a great time shooting around Seaside.  They were brave and got right into that cold water but it was worth it because we really got some amazing photographs that they will cherish their whole life.  I look forward to shooting their wedding!  If they look this good in jeans imagine Alicia in a wedding dress, WOW!

Jared & Christa Allen Wedding February 6, 2010

When you hear of Defuniak Springs you don’t exactly conjure up images of fairytales?  When the Allens hired me to photograph their wedding and I saw the venue, I immediately took my fiancee there and we booked it for our wedding reception.  Located on one of only two perfectly circle shaped lakes in the world the Chatauqua Building looks like it has come straight out of Gone With The Wind.  The street is lined with old houses and just steams with the good ole Southern Charm.  The location is just full of history and beauty of the Old Florida.  It truly was a picturesque location right from the pages of a storybook and what made it more beautiful was the love filling the air from Jared and Christa.  I had to contain myself from not crying all day seeing the way that Jared looked at Christa and knowing that I would be looking at my bride in this very place in just 6 months.  The families were just great and had all the southern charm to match the location, and the accents too!  As you will see by the photos this was a Florida Gators themed wedding and the bridal party wore their blue and orange team colors.  We did have a few outbursts of ROLL TIDE throughout the day.  The icing on the cake was the Bride’s parents sporting the opposition’s colors…Seminoles!  We had a great time with the Bridal Party but the girls did freeze!  I have  a few photos showing the goosebumps.  But they were great sports in their strapless gowns and all looked just gorgeous each wearing their shoe of choice and sporting Gator’s garters! And I finally got what I have been waiting for as wedding photographer…they smashed the cake in their faces!!!!!!!!

Kyle & Natalie Braxton Maternity Session

Kyle and Natalie and baby Hudson in tow in the belly traveled down from their home in Alabama for a maternity/Christmas session.  We had a great time at Eden Gardens and the next day hit Seaside and Water Color.  I hadn’t seen them since their wedding this past summer and Natalie was even more beautiful in her motherhood glow.  Their love of Auburn University was apparent in this session just like their wedding!  They changed into their school colors and had a pair of Auburn booties for Hudson that makes some appearances in the photos.  How cool is that?!  We are already discussing future sessions with newborn Hudson who will soon be making his grand arrival.  And I am sure that he will be wearing some little Auburn Tigers suit.  I’m just really a very blessed guy to be part of all these important moments in their lives.

Norris & Virginia Lewis Wedding 11/7/09

December 18, 2009 2 comments

I had the pleasure of being the exclusive photographer from engagement through post wedding shoot for one of the best couples I have had the blessing to meet in my life, Virginia Nasri and Norris Lewis.  We had a great time traveling to Disney for the engagement shoot and love story video.  Then we had a Nasri Family Portrait session on the beach, the fabulous wedding at The Resurrection Church in Miramar Beach, the reception at Sandestin, and finally a great post shoot at Sandestin and Miramar Beach.  We all really felt like we had become part of the family and it was sad when the event was over knowing that we wouldn’t get to spend more time with such a great group of people.  The pure sense of family and love that you feel in the Nasri house is what everyone in this life wants to share in, and the Nasri’s freely share in this love with others.  I know that this wedding is just another chapter in this family’s life that will only serve to enrich the already greatness that they share.  I can’t wait to be included and capture more special moments in their future.

Randy & Lara Goff October 24, 2009 Perdido Key, Florida

One sunny day in August I had the pleasure of meeting Lara and Randy from Tennessee at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach.  This was a meeting to discuss their wedding date in October.  Lara walked up with her southern charm just shining through her eyes and gave me a big giant hug.  It was the kind of greeting that just made you feel at home, like the kind you get from a family member that you haven’t seen in a long time.  Randy reminded me of a big sweet teddy bear.  Maybe that isn’t the coolest thing to say but it is true and when my sister finally met him she said the same thing.  Randy is the first groom that I have met that really had a genuine interest in the photos of his big day.  The images were just as important to him as any bride and he wanted those moments captured forever.  They chose to have a 2nd photographer in their package so my wheels began to spin.  My brother is awesome but I needed his help with video so I decided to ask my friend who is a fellow artist.  I wanted all the photographs to have the artistic feel and stay with my style.  April accomplished exactly what I was looking for and I told her I was going to tattoo my watermark on her.  My mom says she is my clone.  It is amazing that she sees things very similar to the way I do and she is an awesome apprentice!

Randy and Lara’s wedding day was a beautiful sunny day on the beaches of Perdido Key, Florida at Eden Condominiums.  We started with photos and video of the beautiful Southern Belle getting ready for her big day in her room and then moving down to the conference room for her dress, and that walk to be joined together as one.  Lara told us this story of her and her bridesmaids hiding their mimosa’s under the bathroom sink because her mom was coming.  It was so funny like a bunch of school girls at a slumber party caught in the act of misbehaving and hiding the evidence.  Those photos will be in the full album on my web site!  Some of my most touching photos of the day are the photos you see of Randy on one side of a door and Lara on the other side.  They had not seen each other and they were just moments from walking down the aisle.  This photo was actually their idea.  I can’t even begin to describe the emotion that filled the air.  They had my mom and sister in tears!  They almost got me too!  It was such a moment as they spoke to each other through the door and touched hands and Randy had a rose for Lara’s mother.  They did not see each other but could feel each other.  This will be  a  moment in time that I will carry for my whole life and feel so lucky to have shared in with them.  I hope that someday I will have that same emotion with my bride.  Every wedding just gets better and better.  I come away from each one with such a sense of blessing to be doing this…and I can’t even call it a job, it is a joy.  I am meeting some wonderful people and coming away feeling as if I have made great life long friends, actually almost family, and sharing in such an important moment of their lives.  Lara and Randy had so much love for each other that everyone there, well we felt like flowers or grass soaking up the rays of sunshine but it was the love of these two awesome people that for one day all of us around them were able to share in that feeling.  And that love on their faces made them the two most beautiful people in the world!  What an unbelievable beginning to the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.

Jack & Tonya Spinks Wedding August 15, 2009

MLJ_4043bwc

Jack & Tonya August 15, 2009 Destin, Florida

This was a very fun wedding to be a part of.  Tonya just has the best personality and her fun loving spirit shines through in the photos.  I felt that I have made a lifelong friend in her and I feel it a great privilege to have been blessed to be part of their wedding day.  Our after ceremony shooting was cut short because of some fierce storms but the good Lord kept them at bay long enough to have a sunshine filled ceremony and beautiful sunset photos.  These photos are just the highlights from hundreds of gorgeous photographs.  Unfortunately, their big reception was almost 1000 miles away and my schedule did not allow me to attend but I sent them with a video and slideshow and was with them in heart and spirit.  I wish them a long happy life together.

Kyle & Natalie

September 26, 2009

Arriving at the rehearsal I met a lovely family and beautiful Bride and Groom.  To my surprise and excitement Natalie was glowing with that shine that only an expectant mother illuminates.  My art would take another facet with this wedding to my delight.  So we got to throw in a few maternity photos while she prepared herself for her big day.  I think that was definitely one of my favorite photos to shoot.  I just wish I had more time. My artistic wheels were spinning but I had to rein it in because we had to get her to the alter!  We really got some beautiful photos showing off the wonder of new life growing and blossoming not only in her body but in her eyes.  Natalie was just beautiful and perfect in her ever changing shape.  I also was able to get some very tender shots of Kyle embracing his unborn child.  They have awoken a new passion in my heart…I will definitely be pursuing maternity photography.  It just makes sense to go along with my love of romance, for out of love comes new life.  It was a beautiful ceremony at the beach and then we got to enjoy a very private photo session and on to the reception.  I want to thank their family for inviting me into this moment in their lives and making me feel at home!
